I’m a wedding photographer based in St Ives Cambridgeshire, where I live with my wife and two children. This positions me perfectly for covering weddings in Bedford, Cambridge, Huntingdon and Peterborough. But I also photograph weddings all over the UK and beyond, and will happily travel to your chosen location.
I shot my first wedding over 10 years ago, and have always enjoyed the social element of them. They’re hard work, and can be a challenge, but you can’t beat the feeling you get when you make people happy with great photos of their special day. My aim is to keep the atmosphere fun and relaxed while providing the best images of your wedding. I never get in the way or boss people around – I prefer to blend in and take the most natural pictures possible.
I’ve been completely obsessed with photography since my teens, and was easily spotted with bleached patches on my jeans from wiping developer soaked hands on them in the darkroom. Once I kicked the developer habit, I completed degree in photography before moving to South Korea for two years to teach English.
When I returned to the UK I began working as a freelance photographer and photography lecturer. I’ve been a professional photographer for over 10 years, and shoot editorial, advertising and commercial photography for a wide range of clients.
I also worked at Practical Photography magazine for eight years where I was Deputy Editor. Working at Practical Photography allowed me to enhance my skills while completely indulging my passion for photogaphy. I now work as a full-time freelance photographer, journalist and photography educator.
Frequently asked questions
Can we meet you before booking?
It’s really important that we meet up so you can be sure I’m the right person to photograph your wedding. Ideally this will be in person, but if you’re too busy we could have a chat on the phone or have a video call.
How do we book you?
Give me a call or send an email and I will quickly let you know if I’m available. If you don’t hear from my within 48 hours of emailing check your spam folder for my reply. To secure the date you’ll need to pay a booking fee, and complete and return my booking form.
How much is the booking fee?
The booking fee to secure the date is £250. It’s non-refundable and will be deducted from your final balance.
What’s your photography style?
It’s a mixture of candid reportage and contemporary wedding photography. I most often to take a step back and observe to shoot candids, but there are times where I need to direct a little more for the couple and group shots.
My ultimate aim is to keep the atmosphere fun and relaxed while blending into the crowd. I provide all photos in both colour and black & white, so you can choose which style you prefer for every single image.
How long will we have to wait for the images?
Making sure your wedding photos look amazing takes a little time. I’ll usually need between 4-6 weeks to get the images ready before they’re sent to you on a USB stick. The high-resolution images that I provide will be professionally edited, and provided in both colour and black & white so you can choose the finish you prefer. Wedding albums take a few more weeks because of the time needed to design the layout and have them manufactured.
Can we make prints from the images you’ve taken?
Once I’ve provided images to you on a USB stick you’re free to print them off, share them on Facebook and email them to friends and family. I will happily recommend the best places to get your images professionally printed and framed. At your request, I can also create a gallery with a professional printer so you can be sure you’re getting the best prints possible.
How and when do we need to pay the final balance?
The balance needs to be paid by cheque or bank transfer at least 4 weeks before the wedding date.
Do you charge for travel and accommodation?
I will travel to any destination in the UK or abroad, and travel within Great Britain is free within 100 miles of PE27. For locations beyond this, including overseas, reasonable travel costs will be charged. If an overnight stay is required modest hotel accommodation will be charged at cost.
Do you shoot any other types of photography?
When I’m not trying to get my children to stand still for just a minute or two, easy said than done, I also shoot editorial, advertising and commercial photography. To take a look at my other work click here.
